How did you first hear about RHEMA Singapore?

I first heard about RHEMA Singapore when I came to the Life in the Spirit seminar in May 2009. That was the first time I had an experience of what RHEMA Singapore was like.

When Rev. Joe was talking about RHEMA Singapore, he said that this is what RHEMA is like. At that time, I really wanted to come, but I wasn’t sure if God wanted me to come. I asked God while I was sitting there, “Do you want me to come?” And then Rev. Joe said, “If you have the desire to come, follow the hunger.” And I decided, “No, that’s not God talking to me.” I didn’t recognize that it was God. That was in May 2009.

For 18 months after that, God kept talking to me. He kept bringing RHEMA up in my mind and I kept thinking, “Maybe I should go to a Bible School.” I started looking around. I looked for other Bible Schools. Every time I came to a website, there’ll be this check, “No.” After a while I gave up.

What was your experience like when you sat in for the free lesson?

In November 2010, God had given me verses telling me to go to RHEMA. He spoke through friends who encouraged me to go to RHEMA. I decided that I was just going to come and sit in for the free lesson. And that was what I did.

It was a Saturday. Rev. Kevin was teaching on The Blood Covenant. He was going on and on and all of a sudden, he just turned to me and he said, “Sometimes, you just have to step out.” He didn’t know that before I came for that free lesson, God had been talking to me. He had been showing me about how Peter had to first step out, before he walked on water. He had to take that first step. When Rev. Kevin said “Step out…” it was right to my heart. And he didn’t do it once. He did it three times.

The faculty of RHEMA Singapore allows the Holy Spirit take over, even if it’s not related. I don’t know how Rev. Kevin got into the step out part, but it happened. I decided, “God had spoken. I’d better come.”

How did RHEMA Singapore impacted your life?

Eventually, I applied for the full-time programme. During orientation, Dean Samuel was telling us that he has never missed a single day of his Bible School for four years. I was telling God, “I want to do this, but it’s not possible because, every month, I will take a few days off work, because I will always be in pain.” Every time I read about the lady who had that issue of blood for 12 years, I envied her because she got her healing after 12 years. I had it for 18 years. I was in pain, every month for 18 years. It’s not possible, I was telling God, “It’s not possible. You have to heal me!”

Thank God, the first lesson that we had was Doctrines of Healing. It was about healing and he said that you don’t need people to lay hands on you, you can just receive as the Word is going forth.

I was sitting there for two whole weeks, I was just listening to the Word, listening to “God has healed us… He has healed us… Healing is mine… I am a healed body…” Praise the Lord! When I read the textbook, The Healing Anointing, one of the chapters said that “the healing anointing is always available. It’s up to you to take it.” I remembered during the last lesson, when Dean Samuel was talking and the Word was going forth, I just did this - I reached out my hand and took it. I’m healed! Hallelujah!

After 18 years… I should have came 18 months earlier! God really sent His Word and healed me! We had exams and there was a section for us to testify on how God had healed us during this module. I was too embarrassed to share it then. I just wrote about some minor ailment that God had healed me.

I’ve never told any one this testimony until now. Everyday at RHEMA, I kept hearing about what God has done, what Christ has done, what He has given to me, what he has done for me, who is living inside me… I kept hearing it to the point that I realize, “Hey Jesus died for me openly. Why am I embarrassed to say it?!”

Before that, there were a lot of things that I didn’t dare to do. I didn’t dare to go up to strangers to pray, I didn’t dare to go up to people to tell them about the Gospel, now I can do it, because Jesus lives in me! Praise the Lord!

Before, I couldn’t recognize God talking. Now it’s just fun! I hear Him! I know His voice! I am able to do it because Christ lives in me!

What would you say to someone who is deciding to attend RHEMA Singapore, but is not sure?

I just want to tell you that if God has put it in your heart, if you have that desire to come, don’t look for substitutes. God wants to do something in you here. He won’t ask you to waste your time here. Even if you think you’ve heard it before, just come.

I’ve heard about healing before. I come from a church that teaches well. But it was all just mental agreement. I didn’t have it in my heart. It wasn’t faith. I didn’t realize it then.

It was when the Word was coming forth, and it was just coming and coming, and faith comes from hearing and hearing and I heard a lot. So, come! You won’t regret it!
