Praise the Lord! Our 2008 alumni, Vera, has recently been ordained as the Assistant Pastor at Fountain of Life Church in Khabarovsk, Russia!

"Vera is an anointed pastor. You can feel the pastoral anointing oozing out of her, even though she has just started! She has such a heart of love and compassion for people. She is excellent in counseling people one-on-one. Most of all, she loves Jesus with all her heart! In every way, she is more than qualified and it is nothing short of a HUGE blessing to us and the church!" Pastor David Maxey - Pastor-in-charge, Fountain of Life Church.

RHEMA Singapore Reaches Beyond...[Updated 5 Jan '10]

Praise the Lord for what He is doing through our alumni and students at RHEMA Singapore! Recently we were blessed to receive a ministry update from Gyan and Joy Basumatary. Gyan graduated from RHEMA Singapore in 2009 and is actively involved in mission trips with his wife, Joy, who is a current student at RHEMA Singapore.

Their latest trip was to India in December, where they ministered in the states of Assam and Meghalaya, along with their team.

They held a Leader's Conference where they taught about 50 pastors and layleaders of a Lutheran church. Topics included Righteousness and Baptism in the Holy Spirit. At the end of the 4 days, the team led them to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and all spoke in tongues. Many later reported that they wish to hear more of such teaching.

Also, 10 women from a nearby Women's Weaving Centre also accepted Christ after they heard what was taught at the Leader's Conference.

The team also visited 7 village churches to preach or to share their testimonies in the nights. During these nights, the villagers would turn up despite a long day of farm work, reflecting how much they wanted to hear the Word of God.

The team also sponsored 80 blankets to needy families as part of a Christmas celebration program. The Christmas program was held in a village which is dominantly non Christians, and is part of long-term project to bring community transformation, along with the gospel, to them.

To God be the glory!

City Christian Assembly [Updated 30 Jun '09]
by Rev. Cynthia Quek

It was with great joy that we ministered at City Christian Assembly – a new church (only 2 months old) set up by Ps James Peng Hu, a 2008 alumnus of RBTCS.  This is a church in the outskirts of Yangon in North Dagon.

During this period, Myanmar experiences torrential rain. Last year they had the cyclone Nargis. Just before we arrived, it was raining cats and dogs. From the air, you could see water-logged fields everywhere. However, during the 4-day seminar, God stopped the rain. If it had rained, the church would have been flooded up to knee level. Traveling would be difficult as most roads would be blocked due to the floods. We left on Thursday for Myitkyina and I was told that there was a heavy downpour in Yangon again for many days. We had very light showers in Myitkyina which made it pleasantly cool. Praise the Lord for the good weather!

Ps James told us that the people recognized the hand of God upon us as it stopped raining just for those 4 days. God healed and delivered many people during the seminar. Some had demons attacking them physically and they were set free. Marriages were restored at the seminar.

We also visited the Youth Development Centre set up by Ps James. In all there were about 45 people staying in one premise. The school term has just started and some children are going to school for the very first time. Some of the children are from the mountains regions just next to India. Some are orphans while others have parents who cannot afford to keep them.
